Jackson Browne Adopts Lyte’s Priority Reservation Technology

Written by Admin | June 14, 2021

Attending a concert will probably look a bit different than it did a few years ago. Still, we’re positive that the energy surrounding events will stay the same.

As artists gear up to finally get back on the road and venues prepare to open their doors to the masses, Lyte is redefining the ticketing experience for everyone involved.

Jackson Browne is the latest artist to take advantage of Lyte’s priority reservation system. As Browne gets ready to tour in 2021 and 2022 to promote his latest album, Downhill From Everywhere, he wanted to allow his fans to reserve their tickets in advance.

Although the official dates and venues haven’t been announced yet, Lyte’s software allows fans to hold their spot in line for tickets in a particular city. They can select the number of tickets they want and share the link with their friends, who can also join the list. They put their credit card on file so when tickets meeting their criteria become available, they can get them within minutes.

Traditional ticketing solutions don’t allow for an online waitlist before tickets go on sale. And once the tickets are on sale, fans have to fight against ticket-buying bots and professional scalpers who intend to flip the tickets for a profit.

The last thing anyone who works in the event industry wants to see is empty seats at what should have been a sold-out concert. Especially when people are hanging around in front of a venue selling the tickets at three times the market price.

We are paving the way to ensure that there are more fans with guaranteed tickets packing the house. With priority reservation, fans can get tickets to see their favorite artists without breaking the bank or having to wonder if the tickets are authentic.

Priority reservation also simplifies the booking process for Jackson Browne’s team. The system allows them to gauge interest in various cities and book venues and dates accordingly. With COVID protocols fluctuating from city to city, it’s essential to have a better sense of the big picture before locking in a venue.

Lyte provides the big picture.

If fans cannot reserve tickets before they go on sale and a show is sold out, Lyte offers a waitlist they can join. If a fan has Jackson Browne tickets but can’t attend the event anymore for any reason, they can return or exchange the ticket on the Lyte platform. This ticket is then offered to the next person on the waitlist for that show. The people on the waitlist pay the market price for the returned ticket, and the venue is still full of excited fans.

After a period of tremendous instability, Lyte is working to make everyone feel more secure as live events return.

Fans can reserve and purchase tickets with confidence, knowing that they can always get a refund or do an exchange if something comes up. Producers can have a clear map of what audience interest is across the country (or world). Artists can perform in a packed house. And venue owners won’t have to shoo away scalpers.

In addition to Browne, Joshua Radin, JORDY, and multiple other artists are taking advantage of Lyte’s platform. L.O.L. Surprise! Live is developing their first tour with the confidence of the Lyte platform giving them market insights. Lyte has also teamed up with festivals such as Life is Beautiful and the Newport Folk Fest to facilitate the resale of single-day tickets. Lyte has expanded its global reach with partnerships in Australia and New Zealand as well.

To keep up with the exponential growth the company is experiencing, Lyte recently added to its arsenal of executives with the appointments of Wendi Sturgis as President, Krystle Jackson as Chief of Staff, and Donovan Bass as VP of Product Marketing.
