FestForums 2023: Lyte CCO Lawrence Peryer announced as panel speaker

Written by Thomas Curtis | January 20, 2023

On Wednesday 1st February 2023, Lyte Chief Commercial Officer and entertainment business veteran Lawrence Peryer (LP) will join the roster of panel speakers discussing the landscape of the live events industry at this year’s FestForums

Since its inaugural edition in 2015, FestForums has brought together the events industry’s leading players and most experienced festival professionals to locations like New York City, San Francisco, and Santa Barbara where it’s being held in 2023. Issues surrounding ticketing, technology, sustainability, safety, and more will be tackled over the course of the two-day conference, with speakers exploring market trends and fleshing out ideas on the future via panels, contests, keynotes and case studies.

As well as overseeing Lyte’s revenue functions in what has been a landmark year for the company, LP has become a go-to resource for his analysis on the trends and challenges within the entertainment industry. In recent months he has been interviewed by Rolling Stone, Bloomberg, and Wall Street Journal, and will lend his perspective to the state of play in ticketing and its future during a panel on the first day of the conference.

Aside from his panel appearance, LP will also host an exclusive episode of the Spotlight On podcast in front of a live audience during FestForums, taking the conference behind the scenes of his interview series with industry insiders and innovators. The special guest LP will be interviewing is none other than the legendary American singer and songwriter Jesse Colin Young.

Former member of The Youngbloods, Jesse Colin Young has had a storied solo career over the past half-century, and has left his indelible mark as a leading light of American roots music. After a brief retirement, Young released his most recent album, Dreamers, in 2019 which coincided with his return to live performance.

The exclusive interview with Jesse Colin Young for the Spotlight On podcast is set to take place at 09:00 on 1st February during the event, whilst LP will appear on the panel to discuss ticketing shortly after at midday.

Other areas of focus for the panels are sponsorship, sustainability, operations, marketing, safety and security, technology, mental and physical health (including a keynote delivered by renowned cardiologist and New York Times best-selling author Dr. Steven Gundry, MD) talent buying/programming and more.

There will also be a remembrance and “get together” live concert commemorating the leaders of Woodstock, Glastonbury, and Newport Folk & Jazz Festival who sadly passed away in 2021, including a special presentation from Woodstock’s Official Photographer, Henry Diltz.

The premier conference for the festival industry in North America, FestForums also provides trademark entertainment in the shape of live music, film premieres, cooking demos, and wine tastings alongside the discussion on key topics. Highlights and previous speakers in recent years include Jack Johnson teaching the conference on sustainability, Quentin Tarantino, Jeff Bridges, Alice Cooper, Kenny Loggins, T Bone Burnett, Michael McDonald, Taj Mahal, and Rita Coolidge.

FestForums 2023 takes place on 1st and 2nd February at The Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California. For more information on the conference, click here.
